The Jewish Transcript

The Jewish Transcript began publishing as the Jewish community newspaper for Washington State in March 1924. As a part of the 90th anniversary celebration, JTNews, as the paper is now called, embarked upon a digitization campaign to make all 90 years of publication accessible to all.
What you will see, thanks to the scanning work of SmallTownPapers, are the scanned versions of the papers themselves. But if you click below on the “Search the Archives” link, you’ll be able to search by name, term, anything you wish, and find the pages with the associated text.
What you see here is the first round of archives, with much more to come. Come on in, have a look around, jog some memories, and maybe spend a few minutes with family or old friends!
Funding for this digitization project comes thanks to an Ignition Grant from the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle and a Heritage Collections Care grant from 4Culture/King County Lodging Tax Fund.
A special thank you to the Central Branch of the Seattle Public Library, which houses the only remaining copies of most of our archives, for releasing its collection to SmallTownPapers.
