CENTER AT DENVER
The next regular meeting of
the Ladies Auxiliary of the
American Medical Center (J.C.
R.S.) at Denver will be held on
Wednesday afternoon, December
11, at the Eastside "Y."
There will be a social hour and
snack luncheon served preceding
the business meeting, when the
annual nomination and election
0f officers will take place.
The program will feature cur-
rent events, and the afternoon
will conclude with games of
cards for those who wish to pihy.
Mrs. Lawrence Weiss, president,
extends a cordial welcome to all
members and guests.
PIONEER WOMEN LUNCHEON
A luncheon and card-party,
sponsored by the Pioneer Wom-
en will be held on Tuesday, De-
cember 10, at 12:30 p.m. at the
home of Mrs. H. Roth, 1911 E.
Jefferson St., it is announced by
Mrs. H. Mesher, president. There
'.will be attractive p r i z e s, and
hostesses for the afternoon will
be Mrs. Ed Side]l, Mrs. Nathan
Anches, Mrs. C. Forman and Mrs.
Wigodsky.

Chanukah Social Meet
For Seattle BB Women
Seattle Chapter B'nai B'rith
Women No. 647 will hold their
regular meeting on Wednesday,
December 18, at the Jewish Com-
munity Center. Dessert will be
served at 12:30 p.m.
After a short business meeting,
the afternoon will be spent in
playing cards, bingo, mah jongg,
etc. Members are invited to plan
their own tables and enjoy a
Chanukah social.

Jewish Women
Mrs. S. Harvard Kaufman;
President of S e a t t 1 e Section,
Council of Jewish Women, is
happy to announce that "Slightly
High," was a financial success,
giving Council its budget for the
year to carry on its civic and na-
tional projects and was also suc-
cessful as a community project
in which so many more people
became aware of council and its
work. Mrs. Kaufman stated that
on behalf of the Seattle Section
she wants to thank all the othe]
Jewish organizations, the adver-
tisers, the ticket buyers and the
entire community for the won-
derful cooperation shown.
The Golden Age Club will
have a Chanukah program as the
entertainment feature at the
meeting scheduled for Thursday
afternoon, December 12, to be
held in the Iterzl Congregation
Vestry Rooms from i to 3 p.m.
Children of the Seattle I:Iebrew
School will be presented in va-
rious numbers. Rabbi Samuel
Graudenz, principal of the school,
will be a guest and present the
children at the m e e t i ng. On
Thursday, December 19, Israeli
movies will be shown.
English classes were formed at
the December 5 meeting. There
are still openings for those who
are interested.
The Golden Age Club is co-
sponsored by the Seattle Sec-
tion, Council of Jewish Women
and the Seattle Jewish Commu-
nity Center. All senior citizens
are welcome to attend these
weekly meetings, held every
Thursday afternoon at the Herzl
Vestry rooms.

ANNIVERSARY
In honor of their Golden Wed-
ding Anniversary, Mr. and Mrs.
Abraham Kaplan of 1524 28th
Avenue, entertained friends and
relatives or cocktails and dinner
at the Norselander on Sunday,
December 8.
Sharing in this happy occasion
were their daughters, Mrs. Irving
Shaff and Mrs. Dean Smith and
their respective families, all of
Seattle, and their son, Mr. Jack
Kaplan and his wife, of Astoria, i
Oregon. Here from New York for I
the celebration were Mrs. Bea-J
trice Gershon, sister of Mrs. Kap- I
lan, and a great-niece, Miss Sel- /
ma Gershon. The. Kaplans were
married in New York in 1907 and
moved to Seattle in 1911. From
1915 until 1942 they lived in vari-
ous parts of the country, but
have been permanent residents
of this city for the past 15 years.
Mr. and Mrs. Kaplan have four
grandchildren, and three great-
grandchildren.
