Rabin Diane Joyce Liberman, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Ben Liberman of Seattle, Washing- ton, became the bride of Dr. Barry Jesse Rabin, son of Mr. & Mrs. Louis Rabin of Brook- !yn, New York, Wed recently in Brooklyn, New York. Dr. and Mrs. Barry Jesse Rabin Rabbi Morgenstern officiated at the ceremony assisted by Cantor H. Ritter. The bride wore a full length gown of white silk organza. The gown was completely under- lined with pink creating an overall effect of a very delicate pink color. The gown had a high neckline which was accented with organza ruffles, empire waistline and juliet sleeves with venise lace appliques which were accented with pearls. The detachable train fell to chapel length. The bride wore an elbow length veil of both the white and pink illusion which was caught to a headpiece of veuise daisies. The Matron of honor was Mrs. Joan Rabin of Berkely, California, sister-in-law of the groom. The bridesmaids were Miss Mindy Kershenbaum, Miss Judy Graber, Miss Madeline Haspel, and Miss Peggy Ker- shenbaum. The flower girl was Sherite Wahnon and ring bearer was Ben Moshe Kershenbaum, all cousins of the groom. The grooms' brother Dr. Monroe Rabin of Berkely, Cali- fornia, was best man. The ush- ers were Mr. Larry Haspel, Mr. Ahron Haspel, Mr. Mark Has- pel, all cousins of the groom, and Mr. Jack Liberman, broth- er of the bride. Following the wedding cere- mony, an elaborate dinner and cocktails was served followed by dancing. Afterwards the couple left for a honeymoon in the Baha- mas. The bride is a graduate of the University of Washington in Sociology. She is affiliated with Phi Sigma Sigma sorority. Dr. Rabin received his P.H.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Louisville, Kentuc- ky. The couple is now residing in Long Beach, California where Dr. Rabin is working at the V.A. Hospital in Long Beach. What more could you ask for? Golda Meir The November meeting of the Golda Meir Group will be held Tuesday, November 16th, at the home of Mrs. Mizzi Fink, 920 Lake Washington Blvd. So. After a short business meet- ing we will have the pleasure of hearing Mr. Peter Schnurman, Area Director of the American Jewish Cottee. His topic:will be: "The Jew- ish Community: Turning Inward or Reaching Out?" It will be held in the party room of the Brighton Place Apartments at 12:00. The ad- dress is 6727 Rainier Avenue South. A buzzer in the lobby will admit you to the party room. If no one is in attendance to admit you when you arrive, then push the buzzer marked "CCO". Mrs. Victor Barkey, our Program Vice-President, has asked Rabbi Daniel Rosenthal to be our guest speaker. He is the new assistant head master of the Seattle Hebrew Academy. His topic will be "The New Morality -- Decent or Descent." There will be a discussion peri- od afterwards. Our President, Mrs. Louis Young, extends a cordial invita- tion to all members and friends to attend this informative meet- ing. North End The North End Group of Hadassah will hold its next meeting on Monday, November 15, at the home of Mrs. Walter Lowen, 7031 51st N.E. Luncheon will be served at noon, and the meeting will begin at one o'- clock. Highlighting the program will be Mrs. Lawrence Wilets, who will review "The Family Moskat," by Isaac Bashevis Singer. This novel on Polish Jewry covers the period from about 1890 through the 1940's, but it also has a tremendous worth to the Jewish situation today. Mrs. Merle Sidell, President, cordially invites all members to this meeting, as well as any prospectiye members and Councilwoman Mrs. Bernice Stern attended the opening luncheon of the Seattle Section of the Nat. B & P Group The B and P Group of Had- assah will hold their next meet- ing on Sunday, November 21 at the Seattle Federated Women's Club at 232 Harvard Avenue E. There is parking in the rear. Again this year we are hav- ing another fabulous Baby Shower. Why do we repeat the Baby Shower? Because every- body knows there are never enough supplies to go around. Our babies in Israel need dia- pers, shirts, blankets and lay- ettes. Our fund raising chairman, Mrs. Laura Berch, and our Baby Shower chairmen, Mrs. William Ross and Mrs. Louis Blumenthal, cordially invite every mother, father, sister, brother, aunt and uncle to at- tend our Baby Shower on Mon- day, December 20, 1971 at 12:00 noon at the Scottish Rite Tem- ple, 1155 Broadway East. There will be an exciting musical program and Mrs. Ju- lius Feinberg, executive manag- er and devoted Hadassah work- er, will be our honored guest. The minimum contribution of $3.00 will buy a dozen diapers in Israel, but $18.00 will purchase an entire layette. All contributions include the gourmet Jewish food luncheon. Nine Seattle Women Forge First Golden Chain Links By Rosanne Cohn Nine leading Seattle women have forged the first links in the Golden Chain. Recent guests at a luncheon hostessed by Mrs. Sydney Weinstein were Mes- dames Ira Alexander, Max Grieff, Charles Kaplan, Alfred Sheridan, David Sidell, Ruth Shulman, Morton Schwabacker and Richard Weisfield. The Golden Chain is the newest effort to make the Room at the Top a reality. The Room at the Top is the twelfth or top floor of the Council House, the retirement home for persons 62 years and over sponsored by the Seattle Section of the Na- tional Council of Jewish Wom- en. The Golden Chain encour- ages women throughout the Jewish community to partici- pate in supporting Council House which will be available to persons of many levels. Appli- cants to Council House living on marginal incomes will be eligi- ble for rent supplements as specified by the Federal govern- ment. The Golden Chain is a pyra- mid which will build downward. Each woman who accepts an invitation is obligated to donate $2 and in turn plan an activity of her own choosing. Eight host- .esses will invite seven, seven will invite six and so on until four have invited three and the Chain will be completed. It is also possible to have a "Don't Bother To Come!" party by simply donating $2 and inviting your guests to do the same. Mrs. David Sidell is Treasurer for the Golden Chain. The Seattle Section of the National Council of Jewish Women has been working dili- gently over the past year to develop a new and important program for high school stu- dents. Called simply Career and College Information Service, this program is reaching direct- ly into the high schools. Volunteers are working with high school counselors to pro- vide as much additional infor" marion to students as possible. Volunteers are available for personal interviews and consult- arian; maintain a current re- source library; arrange for field trips to community colleges, technical schools, business and industrial sites; assist with col- lege tests and procedures; and arrange lectures by business and industry representatives who wish to talk directly to the students. All Youths With Bar-Bat Mitzvahs in 5731 Honored All Herzl Ner Tamid Con- servative Congregation youths who celebrated their Bar/Bat Mitzvahs during the past He- brew year 5731 were honored at Friday evening and Saturday morning services the weekend of November 5th and 6th. Fourteen boys and girls par- ticipated in the two services and in the activities which followed. Those recognized were: Per- ry Bloch, Jeffrey Boguch, Alan Brenner, Robert Dwoskin, Seth Franklin, Elliot Goldfine, Bruce Jaffe, Kany Levine, Neff Okrent, David Okrent, Mark Peizer, Mark Rice, Elizabeth Roer, and Barry Rogel.
